The Chair of the Sydney West Central Planning Panel is Professor Edward Blakely
, who is the District Commissioner for the Sydney West Central district.
Mary-Lynne Taylor, a Sydney resident, is a practicing Solicitor with the firm of Bartier Perry. She is a graduate of Sydney University with an Arts/Law degree. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.
Mary-Lynne is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney in the faculty of Architecture in Urban and Regional Planning and has taught Planning and Heritage Law for many years. In addition, Mary-Lynne has initiated and chaired a diverse range of planning panels in areas such as Liverpool, Fairfield, Waverley, Warringah, Ryde, Port Macquarie and Wollongong.
Mary-Lynne was a member of the NSW Heritage Council for eight years, rising to Deputy Chair and the chair of the approvals committee.
Paul Mitchell OAM
Paul Mitchell is a town planner and environmental scientist. He has over 30 years of diverse planning experience mostly in NSW but also in other Australian states and internationally. In previous roles he has served on advisory boards for both the World Bank and the United Nations.
Paul is currently a director of EMM Consulting, a national planning and environmental services company.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Geography and Environmental Studies) from Macquarie University, a Master of Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Applied Science from the University of NSW. He is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.
The council members joining the State members to form a Planning Panel will change, depending on the council area in which the matter under consideration is located.
